1993

1993 — The Beginning
Positano Pizza & Ristorante was established in February 1993 by Tony, a Naples-born dishwasher who worked his way through local kitchens and the Amalfi Coast. Inspired by his time in the town of Positano, he came to America to pursue his dream of owning a family-run Italian restaurant. That dream became reality, welcoming guests from New Hyde Park, Mineola, Williston Park, Garden City & Manhasset for authentic Italian food.

2020

Next Chapter — George Takes Over
After Tony, the restaurant was taken over by George, who introduced a number of changes — some of which longtime customers weren’t fond of. But one thing that stayed constant was the presence of Carlo and Santos, whose dedication and consistency kept the heart of Positano alive during the transition.

2025

2025 — Carlo & Santos Take the Lead
In 2025, Carlo and Santos officially took over Positano, bringing the restaurant back to its roots. After years of being the familiar faces customers trusted, they now lead with a renewed commitment to authentic Italian cooking, warm service, and the Positano traditions everyone loves. Their vision marks a fresh beginning — one built on passion, consistency, and a deep connection to the community.
